The Staff Engineer performs engineering design and analysis on projects and programs ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria. Assists with the preparation of permit applications, material testing, surveying, construction staking, drawing preparation, and computer aided design (CAD) work.

Some outdoor work is required in the survey, inspection and testing at various land use developments, construction sites or public works facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate drafting instruments, computers and various pieces of office equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
Availability
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and overtime as required.
Travel
Travel will be required to respective job sites and is primarily local during the business day. Occasionally, travel may be required to job sites in other states and would require overnight stay.
